For World Fair Trade Day 2008, people across the United States will set the world record for the World’s Largest Fair Trade Coffee Break.

On May 10, 2008 at 3:00 pm Eastern/ 12:00 noon Pacific, people across the country will take a break to enjoy a cup of Fair Trade coffee or other Fair Trade beverage. This will set a new record that will serve as a benchmark for futres years’ challenges!

In Media, America's First Fair Trade Town, there will be 2 locations:
The Coffee Club Cafe and Ten Thousand Villages.

Celebrate in Media, America's First Fair Trade Town!
- Media will participate in a country-wide effort to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest coffee break- meet at 3:00 pm at the Coffee Club Cafe!
- The celebration will continue with events at Media's 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Fair Trade enthusiasts worldwide will host Fair Trade food tastings, house parties, speakers, festivals, concerts, and fashion shows. Many communities are celebrating WFTD over a period of two weeks, from May 3- 18th, America’s First Fair Trade Fortnight.

America's First Fair Trade Town Committee in Media, PA is holding a poster contest to promote education about Fair Trade. All entries will be displayed at the Coffee Club Café in Media. The poster exhibit will be updated monthly, with opening receptions at Media's Second Saturday from 6:00 to 7:00 pm:

Contest ends on Mother's Day, May 11, 2008. Entries should be dropped off at the Coffee Club Café between Saturday, October 13, 2007 and Sunday, May 11, 2008. Artistic content should portray at least one of the following themes:

“Buy Fair, Buy Local”
“Media, PA: America’s First Fair Trade Town”
“A Better World through Fair Trade”

This is a part of Media's Media's 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll, when over 40 businesses and organizations along State Street in Media host artists, musicians, poets, authors, dancers and other art forms.
